What is Reiki healing?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese holistic practice carried out by qualified Reiki practitioners across the globe.
Reiki promotes deep relaxation and stress relief, and supports the body’s natural healing processes. It is a gentle energy therapy which can help you to let go of that which no longer serves you, and restore balance to mind, body and emotions.
A warm, soothing energy flows from the hands of the practitioner to the client, promoting relaxation, releasing tension and allowing your body and mind space to restore and heal itself.

“Rei”- Universal “Ki”-
Lifeforce energy

  • By the gentle placing of hands, or hovering just above key energy points (or Chakras) across the body, I direct the universal energy of Reiki to the areas that need it most- gently moving energy blockages and restoring balance.

  • What does Reiki feel like?

Some people describe it as a deep relaxation, a great sense of peace and 'one-ness' during their session. Some people feel warmth or tingling sensations in the areas of the body receiving treatment. Reiki feels different for everyone, but most people agree that it feels deeply relaxing, restorative and some people even fall asleep! (Don't worry, the beauty of Reiki energy is that you do not need to be awake to receive its full benefits!)

  • Can it cure my illness?

No. Reiki is a complementary therapy and should never be used in place of professional medical healthcare treatments. Reiki can, however be used alongside any traditional treatments to help the body's natural healing process, and to assist on an emotional level for the individual. Some people use Reiki to promote healing after surgery, or to aid their recovery.

  • Is Reiki safe?

Reiki is carried out by qualified, certified Reiki practitioners; and as it is a non-invasive complementary therapy, for most people it is completely safe. I always carry out a full consultation with individuals prior to treatment where we discuss any ongoing health concerns or considerations. If you are ever in doubt whether Reiki is safe for you or your particular condition, I advise you to speak to your healthcare professional or GP prior to booking a session.
